Who Knows How to Make a Computer Mouse?
In 2012, Brian Berkely wrote a blog post on what it means to create a computer mouse.
You would think it’s the CEO that has all the answers, but he doesn’t. He lives in a world of economic forecasts and strategic initiatives, and the details of mouse-making are not his job.
Also, you might think it’s one genius engineer, but no. An engineer may understand how you piece the mouse together, but he can’t produce the diodes, and plastics, and the different metals that form the component parts. He is not to be bothered with the nuances of mining Silicon or the synthesis of chemicals to form plastics.
So who can create a computer mouse? The short answer is:
No one. No single person can make a computer mouse.
A successfully delivered mouse is proof of the power of human collaboration; a testament to leadership, teamwork, and systems thinking. And so we are at Alexander Gold Consulting. We collaborate as partners and think in systems to deliver exceptional results.
